Ella Emhoff is a textile artist and painter currently based in New York at Parsons School of Design. Using vibrant colors and bold patterns, Ella tries to convey a sense of child-like wonder in her work while also focusing on the therapeutic effect that the process of creating has for her. “Love Me Cake”Love Me Cake is a bit of an ode to sweets. As a kid I loved desserts like cake and would often use it as a bit of a coping mechanism for emotions I didn’t quite know how to process at the time. I wanted this to be a sort of romantic gesture from the cake to me. An “I miss you”.  I was using trashy romance novel covers for inspiration on the background, trying to convey a sense of drama and intensity with the sunset.
